Pros

Being Remote and standard benefits

Cons

Sales leadership is horrendous. New people are brought in not trained, aggressive targets (that have never been hit) usually designed to be the escape goats to protect the old guard. Long tenured sales protects the existing power structures. When results slip, they blame newer reps. New hires don’t hit, quotas unrealistic, weak implementation. Nightmare of a company, the worst I have ever worked at.

Thank you for taking the time to share this. Feedback matters, even when we see things differently. Quota-setting and new hire ramp structures are areas we invest in seriously - they're because we want our sellers to win, not to set anyone up to fail. That's the culture we've built, and it's one I'm proud of. That said, I do hear that your experience hasn't matched that intent. If there are specific gaps in how you were onboarded or supported, I'd genuinely like to understand them so we can keep getting better. Please connect with HR or reach out to me directly. We're committed to building a team where every rep has a real shot at success! Alice Katwan, President of Revenue, Sovos

Pros

Staff make the best with what they're given.

Cons

Products are mostly independent and not interconnected (no platform) and difficult to sell. Poor compensation compared to competition. Executive leadership is focused on PE exit, not doing what's right for employees or customers. High customer churn as well. High performing sales staff being put on PIP's for recent slowdown in company performance. BDR inbounds are not qualified and mostly useless. Market appears to have caught on to the fact the products are difficult to deploy.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We genuinely value candid feedback, and we can hear the frustration behind these words. The dedication of our people is something we are proud of, and we take seriously any concern that employees are not feeling well-supported. We want to address the concern around performance management directly. A PIP is a structured, documented opportunity for an employee to meet defined expectations with clear support and a path forward. Every decision of that nature involves careful review and meaningful dialogue with the employee. We hold ourselves to a high standard of fairness in that process, and we recognize that when those decisions feel disconnected from individual effort, it erodes trust. That is something we are attentive to. On compensation, we regularly benchmark against industry standards and remain committed to ensuring our total rewards package is competitive for those who perform. We wish you all the best in your next chapter and are grateful for the time and effort you contributed as a Sovosian. We hope your future endeavors are fulfilling and rewarding. - ‎Colleen Schlagel, Chief Talent Officer

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Even as you have moved on from Sovos, we truly value hearing about your experience with us. We're glad that remote flexibility, leadership support, training, and work-life balance were positive aspects of your time here. These are elements of our culture we work hard to maintain and strengthen. We appreciate your candor about compensation and the challenges of our sales environment. Compliance software is complex, and we recognize that selling solutions in this space requires deep expertise and persistence. Your feedback about compensation is valuable as we regularly review our total rewards packages to ensure we remain competitive and can attract and retain top talent. We're continuously working to evolve and improve based on insights like yours. Thank you for contributing to Sovos during your tenure, and we wish you continued success in your career.
