Pros

One major pro are career growth opportunities. There are so many ways to move up or around within the company to make a long term career if you like tax compliance work.

Cons

The employees are not welcoming or friendly. People are catty and just walk right by without saying a single word. They all make it a very uncomfortable place to work and this makes it difficult to want to come into work. They are all very cliquey and are great at making you feel like an outsider/unwanted.

We appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback. We like our flexible paid time off plan, too. Our “Be Accountable” value means we have a great group of highly accountable folks, and we reward them with the flexibility to take time when they need it. It’s one of the great parts of our culture. You’re comments on career advancement and management however, stand in stark contrast with that culture, and that is worrisome. We work hard to provide our managers with the right tools and resources so that they are able to lead their teams successfully, and we’re sorry that you didn’t have that experience. We have taken your feedback directly to our team in Atlanta, and will review it in context with feedback from other employees. I can assure you we will continue to work hard improve the employee experience, and we take your feedback seriously. Thanks for sharing it, and good luck in the next step in your career.

Fun peers, poor business direction and leadership

Pros

This is a young, energetic company with a lot of potential to be a great place to work. They have a start-up type feel with a mixture of corporate environment.

Cons

I was in a few different roles at Sovos with poor experiences in all of them. It is painfully obvious that the CEO does not care about the operations area and it was very unfortunate to see that. In addition, the operations area has little to no upward mobility and the hours are incredibly long. The sales and marketing area of the company has constant attrition, with that comes constant territory re-alignment and client dissatisfaction. It becomes very difficult to guarantee and sort of consistency for clients. The marketing area is so under resourced it cannot begin to keep up with the business demands and is very poorly managed. The sales teams are just about on their own for any sort of greenfield/prospecting. Companies are acquired and cultures clash with little plan for synergy of the businesses. Promises are not kept, the business has no sense of direction, leadership is disappointing.
