Depends on your agent.

Pros

I've worked for more than one agent and it really depends. Some are great, others are not. I love that I'm able to support myself even though I don't have a college degree. I work normal business hours and never have to take work home with me. This job is not hard, you just have to be focused.

Cons

You really are working for a small business when the customer thinks you're a part of a huge corporation. Your client base will also really depend of the area you're in. Sometimes claims or underwriting will make your life difficult. Sometimes your client will. Sometimes your agent will. Sometimes your coworkers will. Finally, let's face it: insurance is boring.

Pros

Hmm...I'm really at a loss here. Just like everywhere else you're bound to meet a few good people.

Cons

They micromanage you til your breaking point. Managers are non-existent; Lacks leadership. Senior Management are just as pathetic. For a company that spends a week in training on Branding, they could really care less about their employees. They would rather hire 200 crap employees and pay them below industry standards instead of hiring 50 quality employees and pay them accordingly.

Pros

Tuition reimbursement so you can take something worthwhile with you when they kick you out the door...great food services and proximity to MARTA if you choose to commute. Crappy designated smoking locations...

Cons

Excessively long weeks of training for menial entry level positions...juvenile work environment, embarrassingly unprofessional atmosphere in a so-called "corporate" environment, inept senior managers who shirk responsibilities, overworked and under-qualified junior managers, highly nepotistic environment...if you great-grandfather wasn't an agent forget about advancement!
