Pros

- some of the people are pleasant - unlimited PTO (in theory) - free food on tuesdays - other people can bring their dogs in to interrupt your work day, but in a cute way.

Cons

- every minute of your day will be closely watched and reported back to you in backhanded ways - there is no room for growth here, this is a "hang in there" placeholder job. no one stays. - the attitude among Support is the most toxic environment at Storable - you will be run ragged and made to feel like it still isn't enough.

Pros

The people are what makes SpareFoot great. Well, that and Chef Andres and his awesome lunches. I'm not sure which I miss more since I've left -- the people I worked with or those free lunches. Just kidding. The tech stack changed quite a bit over the 3 years that I was there, and that is a good thing. People who complain about such things are people who have only one skill and are afraid to learn new skills. Before SpareFoot, I was working at a cushy job that was not challenging me at all, and I was withering on the vine. SpareFoot helped me grow in many ways. If I were ever moving back to Austin, there's only one place I'd want to work.

Cons

Its downtown. That's what eventually led to my demise. 60-90 min commutes each way during rush hour eventually got to me and and I was lured back to a slower pace of life in the lowcountry. But if you live downtown or within a reasonable commute, then you have literally nothing to complain about. Except for maybe the guy on 7th street killing pigeons with a length of pipe. Or maybe all of the people who keep driving off of the top of parking garages on Brazos St. I'd worry about them.

Pros

Work/life balance is good. CEO is transparent

Cons

Limited career upside Employees haven't gotten a raise in over 2 years, despite having record sales The company has grown tremendously, primarily through acquisitions. We continue to beat our EBITDA and revenue targets, but employees see none of that growth in their paychecks. If you're looking for a company that cuts costs, sacrifices company culture and doesn't reward it's employees, work here. The only people that benefit are senior personnel with equity in the company.

We did recently authorize and lift the pause on merit increases due to COVID-19 and moved that allocation from April to July after taking some time to see how we did as a business in the current environment. Even though Storable has outperformed expectations since the crisis started, we also know how volatile the pandemic has become so we believed it was important to be patient and cautious before making a decision we might regret later. As a current employee who says they haven’t seen an increase in two years, we would hope that this has been discussed with your manager and/or you’ve had the ability to connect with one of our POps business partners to find out why. We do put our employees first and would hope that you engage with leadership and any of us on the POps team to tell us your concerns so we can constructively discuss them with you. Psychological safety and fostering an inclusive environment where you can tee these issues up in real time is front and center for us, so for you or any other current employee who feels strongly about our culture, your work and/or your compensation, we encourage you to come talk with us.
