Pros

- No Project is the same which is why I love my job. I don't get bored and that is important when you work. - Management nibs politics in the bud. They let us do what we were hired for and they take care of the rest. Lots of time is wasted when certain things are not taken care of. Management does an excellent job on ensuring that things are addressed at an early stage. - You work hard, you play hard and you get rewarded appropriately. - The Management makes everyone feel welcome. They do wear suits occasionally but there attitude is down to earth.

Cons

We get spoilt with food and cookies.

Pros

... We don't have two turn tables or microphones and Beck isn't actually on the payroll, but we do have a dartboard, our own hockey team, catered lunches and an infinite free snack bar to help add a layer of protection from the Chicago Winters. I began working at Straight North right out of college, and I feel grateful for the opportunity to be a SN employee! Over the years I've worked here, I've expanded my skill set an unbelievable amount and been presented with countless growth opportunities and responsibilities. If you are a hard worker, it is noticed and will take you far. My favorite thing about Straight North is the "all hands on deck" mentality that only can exist in a small company. This mentality allows people to work on many different tasks to get the job done and to grow their knowledge. This keeps things exciting because everyday is different. Management hires people who are self starters and do not need to be micromanaged. As an employee, it is a huge perk to be given the freedom to "own" tasks and projects with the trust that it's taken care of without needing to follow up. If you are a dedicated, hard worker who would like to grow in more ways than just a linear, one-track career path, Straight North is for you.

Cons

If you're anti caffeine, I suppose the unlimited free coffee and tea would be a con.

Pros

Ownership is willing to try new ideas, stays focused on results, and yet treats employees well. Excellent environment for learning about Internet marketing, as there are many experienced and knowledgeable people on staff. Not nearly as much internal politics as what I've experienced elsewhere -- very refreshing. Health insurance and personal time policy are excellent.

Cons

The downside of trying new ideas is there can be a lot of false starts and unexpected changes in direction. This takes some getting used to.
