Pros

The job has flexible hours, good pay and it's not too difficult. You can basically make your schedule as long as you don't mind working part-time. I think it's an ideal job for a student.

Cons

The main con is that it is nearly impossible to make a full-time job of it due to the fact that you will have to work almost exclusively nights and weekends, so you can't expect more than about 20 hours/wk from a tutor job with this company. Also expect to pay for your own gas and not to be compensated for the many hours you will likely be driving as you tutor at students' houses. If you go in knowing that this is what will happen then you'll be fine because it's really a good job for what it is. You get a lot of support from the company and if you are a good tutor you will mostly get a lot of encouragement - most of the families are very appreciative.

Thanks for being part of our tutor team for 4 years!! I agree that this is a fantastic part-time job, but infrequently can it be a full-time job because of how seasonal the tutoring calendar is. Best, Greg President & Co-Founder

Pros

+ Friendly and helpful management + Flexible hours (if you like working evenings and weekends that is) + Good materials to work with + Great client base + Nice online tutor community

Cons

- Lots of driving and mileage is not reimbursed (but you can limit your range) - Extra time (lesson notes, emails to families and supervisors, lesson prep) is not paid

Pros

StudyPoint allows you to be flexible with your schedule and the area in which you work. They provide you with convenient and helpful training that you can complete at home as well as all the materials you need to work with students. Supervisors are friendly, easy to reach and extremely helpful. The programs are clear and easy to work with. All in all, StudyPoint is a great company to work for!

Cons

You do have to be motivated and organized as you have to manage your schedule and work load on your own.
