Pros

Good entry level job, great "work/life balance", sometimes interesting projects

Cons

Disorganized, projects could be all over the place. Staffing was a mess. Maintaining culture put before real business goals Work was often above paygrade which has both pros and cons. Pay below industry standards at the time

Pros

It's been quite a long time since I was a Summiteer, it was amazing for my career and the last job where I truly felt I had a "work family" -- or at least some close friends among my coworkers. I was Summit's first IT person, being the odd transplant from the midwest. An old friend of mine who is still there was talking to me the other day and it inspired me to write this review. Someone posted some awful review and people thought it was me. To clarify, I admired the leaders I worked with, and the former CFO, my old boss, taught me more than I ever learned about being compassionate as a leader, even taking hits or running interference for the team to let people work on what they do best and leave the rest. I miss the chatter in the old food truck lines. In a post-COVID world, I can only imagine what it's like, it was the sharing of common space, friendly faces that brought down guards and let people trust each other, leading to excellent communication and collaboration. In short, when I think of Summit days, I get nostalgic, but I wish Summit all the best and all the success!

Cons

Things could easily get political.

Pros

Summit fosters a collegial environment. Members of senior management are approachable and transparent.

Cons

Junior employees can be pigeon-holed quickly. Big picture and/or strategic thinking is stifled at the junior levels. Management favors technical ability to a fault.
