Pros

People are nice that you work with and company does provide some fun events/rewards for employees. Health insurance is decent if you are single young and healthy.

Cons

Hours are long and schedule can be all over the place. One day is 10 hours the next could be 6 but you are pretty much scheduled every day no matter what and the pay is poor. Not sure how some of my co workers made a living.

Poor Environment

Pros

Solid benefits and student loan reimbursment.

Cons

From day oneI had a poor experience. It was sad to see us talking poorly about other financial institutions when I was excited to learn about Summit. Then once I started, my manager never assited me with anything, which led to me hearing other team members talking poorly about me while I was calling for assistance and they forgot to put their phone on mute. They never once considered the fact that I was new and had no support. Sales goals were increasing, but they were making it harder to reach the goals. This company puts down banks all of the time for being more concerned about the #'s instead of the members, but they are doing the same thing. Management is a complete joke. I went through 4 managers not including the interim managers and I was only with the company for 2 years. Never felt appreciated. As a higher performer and somebody who was reliable, I was made to feel bad when I would be sick and as to leave, because only one lender would be available, however, it was perfectly acceptable for me to be by myself all the time.

Pros

Promotes wellness through gym and emails

Cons

If you want mental health problems work at Summit. They will work you into the ground and when you cant do it anymore they will try to make you resign. They pay less than other credit unions in the area for 5x the work. Their recognition is only sales based. If you don't make them money they will undermine your success. You cant even go to HR because they keep a bias. This place is all sales. They product push so much members get mad if you ask, because everyone is asking them repeatedly. Goals are high and they never get better. They pay less for back office jobs. Its thankless, stressful and you will count down every moment until you can leave for the day. Before you know it you've wished 4 years of your life away. Their hours are terrible. 7:15 to 6:15 is unacceptable, but it happens frequently. You don't get a say in the matter either. You will leave this place ragged and tired, full of misery and anxiety. DONT WORK HERE!
