No Work/Life Balance, Favoritism

Pros

The owner is wonderful. They’ll hire you with no experience. Great benefits, but horrible pay.

Cons

Swoon is like a high school. It is full of cliques and managers that are unprofessional and show favoritism. If they don’t like you, you’ll know it, and they won’t hide it from anyone. During my time there I saw many co-workers treated with disrespect. If you forget to log a note online, they will attack you and ask why you haven’t been working all day when you have, you might have forgot to note it right away. They stalk you 24/7 and you can never relax while on the clock. They don’t give a 2 week notice, and if they find out you are even interested in looking for another job, they’ll threaten to fire you on the spot. I was lucky not to go through that, but it didn’t stop me from noticing others. There is no work/life balance, I was told on multiple PTO days that I needed to log on to either make a call or compete a task on my days off. It is obvious that they burn through the entry level team knowing they’re all going to quit and they still wonder why they can’t retain talent. It’s a machine burning the people at the bottom so the people at the top can make more money. I’ll be honest and say personally I was lucky that my experience here was not that bad, but the things I saw how most everyone else was treated, I would not recommend to my worst enemy to work here.

Not what I thought it would be

Pros

Paid benefits, cool office and overall it's a close commute if you're coming from the suburbs ( Via metra and or L).

Cons

The company has terrible vendors and expect recruiters to fill roles which 20 other agencies also compete for. Managers will force people to write reviews and in most instances you can read through and see which reviews are clearly written by hr or marketing. The office plays favorites and selects promotion mostly on tenure and not necessarily performance. Some individuals have been promoted to roles which reflect nothing to do with performance- if you were to take them and place them in another company with same title and duties, they would most likely fail. Which speaks volume of the why this company blows a lot of smoke.

Pros

Thinking hard and long about this one.

Cons

They will tell their employees anything... They lie about job responsibilities, benefits and the number of work hours required. Never in my career have I encountered such a sleaze ball company. In the beginning they will tell you that they recruit direct hires, but once you interview with the company you will find out that is not the case and that you are interviewing for a contractor position. Get everything in writing, because verbal promises mean nothing at this firm.
