Pros

The hours were great and I worked with some awesome people. I really enjoyed the interaction with the residents. They made me smile.

Cons

The training was inadequate. I never felt comfortable there. A solid foundation is of utmost importance. I felt lost all the time.

Leadership is completely out of sync

Pros

Pay is generally pretty fair / competitive. Corporate offices are very nice. Company is an ESOP which is cool but not reflected in the culture at all. Company is trying to sustain rapid growth.

Cons

There are lots of facets to this company so your mileage may vary. Generally if you work at Corporate or in management be prepared for an incredibly frustrating experience. The company is trying to sustain rapid growth but does not involve any of the staff or management in any kind of decision making or planning for this growth. Growth related projects or initiatives are usually sprung on you at the last minute with no regard for existing workload. Executive leadership makes almost every decision in a vacuum and fails to communicate these decisions effectively more often than not. There are miles and miles of red tape to get anything done. Any initiative you're involved in will likely take longer to get approved/reviewed/signed off on than to actually complete. Symbria hires a lot of very capable staff and ties their hands behind their back with red tape and poor communication. Executive leadership is notoriously nitpicky and impossible to please. There is a clear culture of superiority among the executive leadership that makes many employees feel disrespected on a regular basis. Be ready to spend more time tweaking your work to the random whim of a C level rather than something actually important to the ESOP. Though this company is an ESOP I felt I had less input than any other company I've worked for. Benefits change significantly every year and get slightly worse every year. Work life balance is not a thing here because the only way to meet the absurd demands of leadership is to work constantly.
