Supervisor Risk-Averse, Ignored Employee's Innovative Ideas

Pros

I felt that the company's salary aligned with the industry standards.

Cons

My supervisor would often ignore or dismiss my creative ideas for research projects or improvements, even when they were well-thought-out and had the potential to make a real difference. I once proposed a new research project that I thought could have a significant impact on the company's development of new drugs. My supervisor listened to my presentation, but then said that it was "too risky" and that we should focus on more "proven ideas". I felt like my supervisor was a blockhead stuck in their ways and unwilling to listen to new ideas.

Pros

Top-of-the-line equipment is really amazing. People are not.

Cons

The atmosphere at work is really negative and unhealthy, and the leadership is not good at all. This is because the workload they give us is extremely tough, and they expect us to work for very long hours without break. It's so tiring and makes us feel really stressed. On top of that, the managers who are supposed to guide us and make things better are actually clueless about what we're working on. But unbelievably, they keep trying to control and change our work. This causes a lot of problems and makes us worried and afraid about our jobs. So, it's a situation that's best avoided to protect yourself from this terrible experience!

Pros

This company is very stable and this is because of the responsible managers and the business strategy. The company has focused on investment on instrumentation and drug development to put 9 oncology drugs in human trials. Things are organized. Because the company moves it's candidates to human trials, everyone knows their work matters. The culture is quite serious, and in the laboratory, the quality of meaningful data is important. There is not major competition between drug programs, so everyone is solution oriented.

Cons

Because the deep drug pipeline, there is so much to learn, it is not common to fully appreciate all the aspects of what we are making. There isn't always time to celebrate people's great contributions. The facility is filling up, but still okay.
