Pros

The company(Alterra) that I worked for that was purchased by Terminix had great leadership and cared about the customers and their employees.

Cons

Do not care about their customers. Pushed to service too many customers per day because management cannot keep the branch staffed and the company is only worried about revenue. New employees are poorly trained and required training is not completed accurately. Employees are allowed to service customers without the proper license. Customers cancel their account and the company does not process the cancel and then sends us out to service the customer again and bills the customer for a service they did not want

Pros

Most of the people you work with in the branch are good to work with. Other than that there is no longer anything good about this company

Cons

Multiple pay plan changes for the sales people, technicians and managers that are suppose to align the company with the strategy of the company told to us by HR. The problem is the company cannot pick a strategy and stick with it more than a few months. The only consistent strategy this company has is to lower the pay of the employees in the field. OSP's now must sale 15% more to make the same amount of money. Technicians are charged for cancellations that are out of their control. Managers can earn a bonus and then be told they are losing 50% of it because of their behaviors dropped their rating to a "2". All of this causes turnover which drives down the performance of the branch. The managers are told the strategy is to drive sales units to grow customer base and then three months later we are told units do not matter the strategy is now to increase average sales dollars and the company raises prices again..

Pros

There are good people to work directly with in the field. The industry is stable and the brand position of the company is good

Cons

The president of the company is a narcissist. He sets the direction of the company and when that direction causes the company to go backwards he blames everyone else for his poor decisions. He just told the region directors, branch managers and service managers that their job was EASY, that fume was EASY and corporate cannot do everything for you. All of us have one simple question. What has corporate done for the field during your leadership reign? If our job is EASY then we would like to see you perform our jobs as you pull resources from the field and build a non accountable corporate empire that owns nothing. He constantly talks about the poor culture of the company and that he is going to change that in true narcissistic fashion. Those people were dealt with years ago and rightfully so but to label everyone else for your personal gain is pathetic
