Cons

I really wanted to like this job…. But Where do I begin? Working remotely at Terminix is a nightmare. Their systems are from the 80’s, once you are finished training and have questions, don’t think about asking your supervisor- they won’t answer or help you unless it benefits them. The commission is a joke, as they do not give you what you have earned, and there are limited opportunities to make sales, as almost all incoming calls are complaints where you get cussed and screamed at, so there’s that. Supposedly, they do give gift cards if you win a sales competition one day, but you will not actually receive them. I won 3 gift cards within the last 4 months, and I haven’t even received one of them. If you need reasonable accommodations and submit your paperwork, it gets approved, they still do not enter or acknowledge them. My request was approved 2 months ago, and still nothing. IF YOU HAVE TO USE THE RESTROOM, you will be penalized if it is not on your schedule for the day. Expect your supervisor to message you should your restroom break be longer than they’d like (micromanaging). HR complaints do nothing, as they will not help you and try to push you off to the next person. Good luck getting anything rectified if there is an issue. The only perk about this job is no commute, and the benefits. But, I would gladly go back to my in-office job because the job is not worth it. You get $17/hr to be degraded everyday by unsatisfied customers, and harassed by managers who want nothing to do with you and will not help you unless it directly affects them. UPWARDS MOVEMENT = ZERO You are just a number. Don’t expect growth unless you are “in” with your supervisors. If you make friends with them somehow, you will have a greater chance for some sort of move. They rip off customers every single day, and we have to play along otherwise there are consequences. Your conscience will not be okay after listening to elderly people cry on the phone after being taken advantage of by outside sales person, and no longer being able to pay their bills (meanwhile they’re living off of their social security). Yet, we can’t do anything to help them. Disgusting.

Pros

Pros? You get 10$ for every sell after you schedule a general home inspection to the customer. which is cool.

Cons

cons... well, they hyped up the job so much during training, that when i got into taking calls. it was not what i signed up for. 3/4 of my calls is dealing with complaints and angry customers. My BIGGEST CON is that the system TMX uses is from the f#ing 1990s and it gets to be so dang frustrating! Plus the support sucks, it could just be my group, but i dont think so. I still chat with some coworkers from training and we basically just chat with each other back and forth when we need support helping a customer. The "support" is a group chat of 25 other workers. that are all busy WORKING so they dont check that chat at all. its typically hours before i get a response. anyways, if you need a workfrom home job. itll do for now, but i would stay on the look out for better opertuneties because tmx is the worst. plus i heard that people werent getting there commission either. i havent received any additional money on my paycheck so idk good luck
