Decent compensation, awful environment

Pros

Availability to work OT, 401k package, dental, vision, and medical, ability to makeup time off.

Cons

The atmosphere at Markers is depressing, sad, and overwhelming. It is not a healthy work environment and I wish I had spent more time on my last job hunt because this place is just not worth the effort. There are a lot of cliques and nepotism (being that it's a family company), especially among upper management. If you enjoy mind-numbing work on a computer for 8+ hours per day, this could work for you. Everyone always says that they gained 10 pounds when they started working there because there is no culture of being healthy and taking care of yourself. The majority of the supervisors and managers are workaholics and they expect you to be too sometimes.

Temporary Employment

Pros

$12/hour for mindless work is not too bad if you live close to the office location. Some of the workers were offered permanent employment, although it did make me question management's choices. One of the women working there did everything they told us not to do with the exception of showing up late. She was extremely unprofessional, and I was shocked when she told me that they offered her a permanent position. It was almost an insult to the rest of the temps working there.

Cons

The environment had the aura of working in a detention facility, and we were isolated from the rest of the organization. Their high demand for low wage workers created an influx of unprofessional people, which was almost insulting when you are one of the people who is capable of not taking selfies in the break room and following a reasonable dress code. All in all, it served a purpose.
