Pros

A good chunk of the people I met were kind hearted and good people, but that’s exactly what you can expect when an organization touts progressive ideals, even if that is a lie.

Cons

Extremely exploitative and ableist, I think they may specifically look for neurodivergent staff who they can easily manipulate. They lie about jobs to make them sound more glamorous but trap you in some icky neoliberal rock and a hard place. They have absolutely no care for what happens to staff, that’s why they closed multiple offices across the nation simultaneously and fired everyone same day this summer. It’s also why they have no problem moving people to a whole new state with the promise of housing and then move them from one disgusting motel to another every week, target true progressives in the org, and just all around scheme. I don’t think it’s far fetched to say higher ups are probably skimming off their campaign budgets. The whole company is actively crashing and burning, leave this one alone and look elsewhere.

Pros

This is a great opportunity for people who love canvassing or are looking for political experience. It also pays pretty well, at least for salaried people.

Cons

It's extremely draining, and management is not very sympathetic to emotional or mental health. You can get harassed on the street all day yet still have your performance picked apart at the end of the shift. Management is out of touch and not thoughtful. Decisions are often made with seemingly no rhyme or reason. We will attend equity and justice trainings (led by someone who canvassed two weeks, hated it, and quit) focusing on the dangers of white supremacy culture only to turn around and fire people for missing quota. Very emotionally draining and disappointing. For such a progressive organization, the humanity stops with management.
