Pros

Lots of paid time off

Cons

Extremely low salaries. The pay froze in 2020 and raises never resumed more than a token level. Benefits were slashed starting in 2021. In 2023, when I started a new job, on the second month, the whole department was told we would not be paid until 2 months later (e.g. August rather than June). I never got paid for it. HR never resolved the issue and I left. I was never paid for the work I did in June. I had to get a second job just to cover food and cost of living with the recent inflation because pay was so low. I was a licensed attorney in a job that required licensure and training for many months and they still did not pay me a living wage. Positions for internal advancement are routinely taken down or not filled so applying for internal jobs is a very frustrating and disappointing process. There are also a lot fewer opportunities to advance beyond entry level than there used to be.

Pros

The products TR sells are the industry standard in terms of quality and breadth along with the people. Culture seems to be vital there and is stated all over. Middle management is full of amazing people.

Cons

Drastic yearly restructuring with new accounts/territories. Very limited data available with this restructuring. TR is a premium product yet. technical support. is subpar Comp plan hasn’t been understood for 3 straight years and gets more confusing . in 2022 Every sales call I was on started with technical support problems. Job is difficult to meet a 35% INCREASED quota with untrained technical support and a reduced headcount in sales development. It is very obvious leadership did not want their reps to excel.

Pros

It's a paycheck - mental health days

Cons

I have worked in the Minneapolis area for 20 years and this is the most dysfunctional company that I have ever worked for. I have worked in other companies and have been commended as being a top performer. Thomson Reuters is at best middle school behavior. I work around the clock and never know what will happen next. Can't please anyone unless you are part of the clique. VPs and Directors are not knowledgeable; they LIE and do not support people that report to them; they suck up to the Big Wigs. It is a hostile work environment. Stay away for your mental health.
