Unfortunately, things go down hill really quick here. Staffing is short, so as soon as one person calls out sick, someone quits with no notice (which happened a good amount while I was there), or there is a hiccup in the system, tensions get high and people feel overworked. I've had to work 10-12 days (when only scheduled for 8) because everyday there are orders sent out for wholesale and someone has to stay until all the work is done. As a production baker, I often had to help the packers, savory, and the cake department, and it felt like every day there was a never ending list of tasks that could get done. We were often scrambling in the morning to make products needed for wholesale orders packaged later the same day, and often ran out of ingredients which meant sending someone to the store. I felt like I could not call out sick because I knew it would make it so my coworkers have a really long day and the culture is generally not very friendly to people who call out. As someone who struggles with mental health and chronic gut issues, this was very difficult for me to navigate and a big part of why I left.

I worked here for a week as a straight white male. I was fired without reason the first week. Only thing she told me why was, I don't fit in. So if you arent a girl or a transitioning gender, you really aren't welcome here. You have to fit in with the group of girls and transitioning employees, or you don't get to work here.
