Pros

great job if you're willing to work if not it will be hell for you, fun co workers and greet customer base

Cons

worked here for 9 years and just started making $10 hour, useing more walmart idea's every year i was there and more focused on money than the customers. also if u are hired and some one in the upper management does not like you, they will ride u hard till you quite or they will make up some thing to get rid of you. also they decide if they like you be for they meet you. I have seen they turn people away with collage degrees in equine studies just because they had their ears gaged or had their hair dyed. also if you are good at the postion you are in the mangers will not let you move up mo matter how much ambition you show this is why i quit.

Pros

Growing company with good customer base. Staffing levels let you learn all aspects of store operations. Corporate policy stresses customer service. Full time positions offer reasonably good benefits for retail trade.

Cons

Poor supply chain, IT system a nightmare. Hight turnover of managers. Little chance for advancement with company, district managers prefer to higher asst. managers and managers from outside of company. Budgets watched closely your hours will be cut if sales are not met. HR has policy of "Salary Matrix" that limits pay raises for long term employees. Very demanding work environment. Managers placing margin ahead of sales and customer service, have no problem selling defective or poor quality merchandise to customers and not standing behind the product.

Pros

Lots of learning if you are willing to put in the hours, when it comes to merchandising. Most of the financials are plug and play and don't take a of thinking.

Cons

Once you get put on salary, upper management expects you to work longer hours. 52 hours per week were required by store managers, but often were required to push 65+ hours.
