Benefits & Balance

Pros

The County offers real work/life balance and excellent benefits, including retirement - but also an on-site wellness clinic, a CARE program, and a gym with lockers and showers. Plus, they allow staff the flexibility to use them!

Cons

There is no budget for coffee or food, so staff pay out of pocket for group lunches or celebrations - and each department operates very differently, which makes it difficult to lead from a corporate standpoint.

Pros

There are many positions that you can move around to if your are looking for a change. There is opportunity for promotion. Family oriented and people support one another.

Cons

In the section where I work, little to no room for promotion. Having staffing issues trying to hire qualified or people willing to stick around. This is not a place to come because you need a check, you are going to have to work.
