Pros

Base pay of $500/week plus commission set some stability in a sales environment. Benefits are wide ranged, but require expensive participation from the employee. May have to work 10 hour days plus including Saturdays. Tough to get time off.

Cons

Sales managers use the Machiavellian philosophy, get a sale at all cost. Promotions are mentioned in interviews, but there's no clear path, it's basically if the boss likes you because you play golf or poker with him. It's real hard to make significantly more money weekly than about $100 weekly on commission, so you're stuck in a rut of working hard but making about the same as the base income.

Pros

The franchise I work for has a very friendly atmosphere among coworkers, including between office staff and field technicians. Morale is generally high, which directly benefits productivity.

Cons

The day-to-day can be relatively predictable, so if you like something more unpredictable, this may not be a good fit for you. As with any customer service job, an occasional grumpy customer can be challenging.

Pros

Paid Weekly. Get to enjoy being outside and getting a nice tan.

Cons

Long hours. Work 10 hours a day. Work Saturdays also. Constant fear tactics if you don't meet numbers. Managers are horrible. They talk about what they did when they were in sales and how great they were. No real training. Just a rah, rah session every day. Extreme micro managing. They follow you on their computer screen from house to house and also see the amount of time it takes you at each location. You get a call if not being a compliant robot. Then your equipment doesn't work. No computers that work. Office itself is a joke. No air conditioning or heat that works in most of the building. Rodents present in cold months. And the funny thing is that a sister company is terminex. I guess their products don't work either. Techs constantly mess up and customers call you to complain. Managers are liars. Use sales reps as a number to get their own bonuses. Very high turn over rate. I can write pages of how bad it was. Don't work for this company. Especially for the Houston locations.
