Pros

Working outdoors during summer months.

Cons

Culture and management. Health and safety is not taken as seriously as it should as are adhering to their environmental policies. Management can be very fault finding, unreasonably demanding with no concern about work life balance. This wears out employees and causes quality concerns.

Disappointed - Broken Promises

Pros

The management salary was fairly good. The training and interview was fairly good as well.

Cons

The culture was good not he surface but failed miserably when the rubber met the road. People were used, expected hours were poorly communicated, work / home life is almost non existing in the summer months, health and safety problems are often ignored, quality is job number three - behind profit and profit. Most of the problems stem from gross mis management. Managers are often sitting in the office working on spreadsheets and are very disconnected from what is really happening in their business. The quality of work is often poor due to lack of supervision and training. Depending on the spreadsheet review weekend work was added or taken away last minute. Sometimes you could be told it would be a half day work but then a message would go out that you couldn't come back until you had x number of sales. No clear message was sent. No clear goal was kept - it was a moving target. Favourites were abound - work, routes, sales ... all were given taken away at will. I was given reassurance and promises but they were not kept. I was not given any feedback during my year. I was often talked down to and demeaned by management. My direct boss had very little communication with me.

Pros

I liked my sales manager and supervisor, but that is only in my specific branch. Everything else about the job Was terrible.

Cons

Commission is literally impossible to attain. 60 hr work week with no overtime compensation. They may tell you you can make up to $65K/yr but you'll be lucky to get $25K. Your commission depends on 2 other departments and since the majority of the technicians B-L-O-W and the office staff couldn't find sky if they looked up, good luck ever getting it. You're guaranteed to work a minimum Mon-Fri 11-9 and Sat 9-2. That is if your manager doesn't tell you on friday night that you're working 9-5 on saturday (keep in mind, since there's no overtime, that's 3 additional hours of UNPAID time). I worked for this company for 4 years and the 1st 3 were decent but the changes they have made to "grow the business" have put me over the edge. Don't make a mistake and work for this company.
