Poor and toxic management

Pros

The company has some value in its offerings, but there’s no real innovation or originality, just a routine replication of what competitors are already doing. Instead of driving new ideas or setting trends, they focus on copying existing market leaders. The eng team is skilled and capable with solid technical expertise.

Cons

I've never dealt with a more toxic management team in my career. It’s their way or the highway- no room for ideas, discussion, or flexibility. Staying on their good side is essential; otherwise, you’re treated as an outsider. They love to push the whole “we’re one big family” thing, but let’s be real- you’re just a number to them. Let’s be real, no family puts you under constant pressure to perform or they’ll cut you loose.

Pros

Just an extreme concentration of great and talented teammates to work with. Sometimes this folks are running into the endless depth of overengineering or attempting to built a rocket ship instead of the bike, but anyway - there is enough people to learn from. Sales and Market ops are just kicking the assess. Game-changer product which actually works, evolves and grow exponentially. Enough options to learn a new things. Fair enough level of benefits.

Cons

Communication is broken. Completely. And as far as team grew - it's getting more and more ruined. Those great and talented people, which mentioned above, oftenly just too tired to fight with windmills and says "okay, i just going to sit here still and get my paychecks". I truly believe executives team is trying to do their best, but lets be honest - they're failing. - It's okay to jump into the chat and start throwing direct accusations on topics, which you completely non competent for. - It's okay to made completely non-transparent process changes company-wide because you read some success-story-book. - It's okay to underestimate other people efforts by words and deeds. etc. (nope, all of these is not ok) Pretty much hypocrisy between declared values and actual behaviour. You actually "win as a team", but if "we loose" - let's find exact person who going to be responsible for it. You hear a lot of words about self-drivenness and holacracy, but you need to approve a loading spinner design with C-level.

The leadership team here recognizes we have room to improve and currently working on some of the things you mentioned. For example, we are creating ways for employees to provide feedback on policy and process changes so we can make the best decisions for the team. We are implementing a formal training process for management to help improve communication as our team grows. Again thank you for this feedback. We will take this information and look at how we can better support our amazing team here at Truv.

Pros

General pros: - Reliable employer. I got a lot of help with relocation and some personal issues. The team always try to help, if you ask; - Team works with feedback. If you have communication/work problem, you always can discuss it. You even can ask a burning question during the all-company meeting and you will get the pretty honest answer from top management. Even if you probably don't like the answer, you are not muted; - Very promising product and wonderful workers; - Company situation is open for the employees: budget, deals, good and bad results; Pros for me as an engineer: - Amazing eng team; - Interesting tasks and ambitious projects; - Independency for tech decisions and your time; In general, if you are a good worker, you will be treated well.

Cons

I have heard about many startups, and Truv is a good one. But still, you need to work quite a lot, this is not a huge corporation, everything should be fast and everybody should be responsible. You get huge experience in return but for some people this amount of work may be a problem. Also some workflows might be not so perfect, e.g. tasks preparing/estimation/planning or lack of resources, the company is young and haven't finished its growth and still is working on processes quality.
