      Pros

      Steady paycheck from a reputable company. Good health benefits. Vacation time. Sick time. Amiable work environment.

      Cons

      Advancement opportunities are limited and it seems like the person best liked is given the job. I'm saying this from what I've seen, not from a "chip on my shoulder." I've seen people with more experience be passed up for promotions by people who were closer friends with the hiring manager. Raises are few and far between. Sales pressure is high even though incentive is limited for sales. Acknowledgement of achievements isn't as high as it should be. Basically tellers don't get paid enough at Us Bank. If you are interested in being a teller look at a different bank. The job itself isn't bad, just the pay.

      Pros

      Work-life balance is encouraged. Some off-hours support is required due to the field I work in, but my management encourages comp time. It doesn't appear to be a career killer to put family first.

      Cons

      Flexibility seems to be at direct manager's discretion, rather than a company policy. Equipment is old, and upgrades are rare. Any expenditure has to be approved by many many people. This is an annoyance, but ultimately makes the bank a stronger company and a more stable place to work.

      Big size company makes for a good setting if you like corporate america. Good team members and business partners to work with.

      Cons

      career advancement was limited in the area I worked. Management had clear favorite employee(s) based upon how the employee would complement them.
