Pros

Pros were job security, decent salary, and benefits that are being cut. In a post furlough atmosphere, we're just pawns.

Cons

Constant change and chaos. Very little promotion chances beyond the GS 12 unless you're a friend or relative of a Section Chief.

Pros

You get to travel the world, pay is good, raises are almost guaranteed

Cons

Management is politically corrupt. Promotions and specialty positions given to political allies.
