Pros

The benefits, as far as medical, dental and vision are amazing. The stability of the company is certainly not paralleled by many companies during this day and age. The military is one of the most valuable aspects of American society and they are truly a unique class of ladies and gentlemen. It is really nice to feel you've helped a young enlisted or officer who is about to deploy arrange their affairs and make sure their family is taken care of.

Cons

The poor salary is not worth the amount of stress and aggravation. The structure of the claims department is baffling and is a breeding ground for more stress. When grown adults (managers) actually walk up and down the aisles telling everyone to go home at 630 pm there is a problem. They act as if people actually want to stay past their shift and don't have families of their own.

Good company to work for, but may not be for everyone.

Pros

Great benefits, Starbucks in almost every department, friendly employees (for the most part), ongoing training, strong mission. Great support from teams.

Cons

It's a great company to work for, especially if you're in the corporate level. However, if you're a member contact, it can become very stressful, especially in mortgage. With a lot of files in one's pipeline, every minute counts to get things done. But sometimes, there are training/meeting sessions that take away that time, so you really have to be on top of things - kind of hard to do when you're just starting out, and training for processors was a bit dissatisfying. You actually learn a lot more on the floor from your mistakes as you go, but in this department - you impact the members' lives in such a life-changing event and mistakes can ruin that for our members. That impact that every processor bears in mind is the main stress.
