Pros

Plenty of PTO, great employee recognition, lots of work towards improving employee morale this year, new CEO is very charasmatic and a great motivator. I believe what he says.

Cons

There is too much work for the individual employee, everyone is completely stressed out, the workload is more than most can handle. The managers are always in meetings, they have too much on their plates with running reports and stats on their employees. They don't have enough quality time with their employees, even though it is a stated priority to mentor/coach. Your odds of getting a holiday off are very slim, employee retention means that it takes a long time to get any senority.

Pros

Strong financially, incredible benefits, numerous employee activities, gyms, starbucks, several cafeterias with many choices of foods from breakfast to dinner. The building, grounds and work environment are beautiful, not to mention the deer and lakes. We have COVERED parking! In house clinc and on site pharmacy. Company stores, On site bank and ATMs, programs that pay for your college, amazing bonuses, huge company parties. This list goes on and on...

Cons

Do we have a lot of changes? Yes, and sometimes too much too soon. We are very busy, and there is a high expectation placed on sales and service. We are a Financial Services company, with AAA ratings and you don't get here by being mediocre... Some don't like sales, but let's face it, products bring the money in... We work hard and we play hard! In this economy, we are all blessed to have jobs with a strong company. USAA is not perfect, but what in life is? Make the best of it, take advantage of all the perks, but I know that no one is forcing me to stay. If people can't appreciate what we have, they are free to leave and search for the perfect company...
