Pros

Amazing benefits (best package in the industry by far), there is a great system for Paid Time Off, top notch facilities with wide array of dining choices, exercise/weight rooms, the people who work there are very friendly and helpful, the company truly believes in its mission and enforces it at every level, there is a clear and defined way to move from Member Service Rep 3-1, most lower management is friendly and clear on expectations, the company is very team oriented

Cons

USAA is great for those who wish to find a long term position and stay in it, it is also a great place to get training but you will not see much promotion once you reach MSR 1 as management is deeply entrenched and it takes between 6-12 years to see movement, this speaks highly to their level of benefits and work atmosphere, unfortunately it doesn't do much for you opportunity wise, process improvement is very slow paced as there is a great deal of bureaucracy, as it is a call center you will not rest one moment and will take your calls for 10 hours straight with a 35 minute lunch and two 20 minute breaks, in between calls you are expected to answer, file, and complete incoming mail; it is a great company but promotion and process development is incredibly slow

Pros

Great benefits, work schedule is flexible. USAA members are great. Front-line employees are, as most people discover on the phone, supremely nice and generous people.

Cons

Incompetent, incommunicative silos of business. Management is mostly Texan, mostly untrained in management, and mostly promoted for political reasons. Management realizes that financial employees have two options: be paid on salary or go to a commission-based world outside, and this is used to manipulate the employees. Systems have degenerated to where many frontline employees have to redocument the same information in multiple places. CEO is an ineffective, weak leader in comparison his predecessor.

Pros

Great benefits and friendly people. You get medical and dental coverage from day one and become a member for theire coverages and products. You receive bonus checks at Christmas and in Feb/March. They have state of the art gyms with personal trainers. They have food courts with a good selection of Restaraunts like Subway, Starbucks, etc. They have a very open communications between Managers and employees.

Cons

Can be stressful work when in the insurance sector. Getting hired and training is challenging and you have multiple interviews and have to pass all tests or you get cut the same day.
