Pros

The company is genuinely concerned about its members and also its employees and it shows in the numerous customer service awards and consistently high rankings in "best places to work" surveys. The campus is beautiful and the facilities are quire accommodating. The mission of USAA serves a higher purpose than "just earning more money". There is great opportunity for work-life balance if you take advantage of the many programs and facilities. They have an excellent internship and new hires program that exposes college students to the work place and gives them responsibility and experience. It's a great place to launch an IT career. Also, casual dress code.

Cons

I was an intern and enjoyed the few months that I spent there. I didn't notice any downsides while I was there because of this short stay.

Pros

Extremely good benefits 401k match dollar for dollar up to 8% Pension Plan Christmas bonus (usually 1 bi-weekly pay check) state of the art on campus gyms

Cons

pay is not great for loan officers should be base plus bonus/commission but they (sr mgmt) say they are scared it would reduce quality of work. no real career path as loan officers, so career training/progression my you manager does not exists USAA does loans but is really a mortgage broker since they sell loans to GMAC, PHH, or US BANK so really restricted on types of loans they can do 18 month time in position, so your stuck in the Real Estate dept till then unless they need you somewhere else Too many section managers, that know very little about mortgages and have just been with the company forever so they got promoted
