Sales positions aren’t too demanding

Pros

Good work/life balance even if you work in the company’s sales/marketing department. They’ve figured out a formula for success and as long as you follow it, you’ll be good. No 14 hour days or 6/7 day work weeks here.

Cons

Not a lot of communication from management. If you need a lot of hand holding you won’t do well here.

Pros

You don’t have to worry about losing your job. The company has been around since the 80s and they don’t just fire people for no reason. If you do your work and meet your deadlines, you have a job for life if you want it.

Cons

It’s not the most exciting job on the planet. But it’s steady and reliable and this year has taught me (and I’m sure millions of others) just how valuable that is in a job.

Really fun company events

Pros

Management is always putting on fun events like BBQs, cookouts, holiday parties, and lunches. It’s a nice gesture, especially since the daily grind is a solitary one. On top of what they’re paying me and the benefits, it’s a more than adequate trade-off for that day in and day out office camaraderie.

Cons

As mentioned, the only things I’d really consider a drawback is the lack of interaction in the office. But it’s not a dealbreaker.
