We are happy to hear that your experience in our warehouse operation was a great one! We do our best to not only ensure you are trained well and ready to go but that our supervisors are also trained well so they may contribute directly to a team member's positive experience. Our seasonal team is a vital and important part of our business and we value your contributions immensely! We couldn't do it without you! Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. Pros

Pay is okay. Training is okay.

Cons

Too many unnecessary, confusing levels of management and far too many leads, most of whom lack the patience for such positions, especially during holiday time.

One of our guiding principles is We are Always Learning and your feedback contributes directly to this business objective. We review our team/department structures annually to address concerns like you have expressed in regard to too many levels of management and make adjustments where we find issue. Customer service is hard work with many demands as we know you understand and patience is paramount for all facets of the role. This feedback provides us an opportunity to stress that this level of composure is required and perhaps supply some ways to address expectations of fellow team members, direct reports and customers. We also acknowledge that systems and process should always be scrutinized for efficiencies and the cyclical nature of cause and effect of when they are not so efficient - we agree this is foundational to our business and have a reliable product management and tech team to assist in developing the best internal tools to support our teams. We are consistently striving to do better in these areas and appreciate the accountability your feedback requires of us. Best, Director, People Team Uncommon Goods

Pros

Everyone that I had interacted working at UG were all agreeable, professional and helpful people. The culture is really healthy if you maintain reasonable expectations. The pay is also higher than other CS roles you'll find on the job market although I think we can agree the bar is despicably set low in the first place. At times it can be extremely busy and a little stressful but the workflow throughout the shifts were steady and customers on average are really polite.

Cons

Just the nature of their business model and market, but UG makes most of their profit during the holiday season where the rest of the year they either break even or operate on a loss. So this means if you are hired for a seasonal position there is noopportunity to grow within the company or a chance of stable work after. I also believe this is just a flaw with any CS role anywhere, but they want you to finish your tickets/solve issues as fast as possible which means less time to be personable with customers and added pressure which can lead to error.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your valuable feedback. We're grateful to hear that your experience as a seasonal team member on our Customer Service team was generally very positive. Your contributions during season are vital to the health of our business overall. We do understand that the very nature of these roles allows for little development or opportunities for year round roles however it does happen occasionally and we are consistently looking for ways to retain individuals where we can. We also hope that you were able to take advantage of our seasonal team resources like our resume review that could assist with more potential in securing permanent employment even if not with Uncommon Goods. Your feedback as it relates to ticket management is also crucial to looking for ways to improve not only our CSR experience but that of our customers. We wish you the very best and appreciate your time. Director, People Team Uncommon Goods
