Pros

People were awesome, but we all bonded over being screwed over by the system at UG.

Cons

Employees are overworked. When staff leaves, filling positions isn't a priority and work is passed on to another team mate who may or may not be compensated monetarily for the new responsibilities (or compensated marginally.) So many smart and amazing people working there who aren't being utilized to their full potential. So many great ideas that aren't being considered.

Pros

Some of the best co-workers you will work with. Company stands for "good morals". Co-workers usually create events to bring up morale amongst each other to brighten up the bad environment provide by management.

Cons

Good morals is only for the A-side which is for office work, B- side is the warehouse where you will work a lot because they don't hire much help cause they are sticklers to saving money and you will see it in the equipment and hiw many year round seasonals that work hard for nothing all year. Management will use shady business practices to keep you out of a position or out of a job. Sexual misconduct is a big secret with management and HR plus HR is really not on the side of the average worker. To be honest i believe the CEO has no idea what really goes on the B-side. EXTREME CAUTION if you decide to work there for whatever reason. They would have so many legal troubles if those poor workers knew their rights.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and suggestions with us. We agree that our team members are terrific and we strive to create a positive, uplifting work environment. We are sorry to hear that was not your experience at UncommonGoods and that you did not feel there was consistency in our management practices across the business. We have just completed Preventing Harassment training for managers and team members across the company, with 100% participation. This is something we take very seriously and we work hard to ensure we abide by legal and ethical business practices. With our entire company operating under one roof, our Founder and CEO spends a considerable amount of time walking the floors, engaging with all team members and has even spent many hours/days working in the warehouse during our busiest time of the season. We take this feedback very seriously and will continue to work with our managers and team members to review and improve our workplace practices, creating the most positive working experience for all team members. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors and thank you for your efforts during your time at UncommonGoods.

Thanks for your feedback and review. I apologize that we did not respond to your review sooner and hope that your experience working with UncommonGoods from January on has been positive. We’re glad that you have found our team both helpful and friendly, but are disappointed that your experiences here have been so negative. At UncommonGoods, we strive to change the way business is conducted by making sustainability a part of every decision we make. This keeps our focus beyond profit seeking and on making the world a better place for all stakeholders (our team, community, planet, and more). If you are still having the same concerns or issues, please do not hesitate to visit with our HR team. Anytime we fall short, we want to hear about it and, while we’d prefer to have someone speak to their manager or our HR team, we appreciate the opportunity to respond to this post.
