Horrible Place to Work

Pros

Toxic work environment, bully bosses that breathe down your neck and micromanage, being talked down to and belittled. Do NOT work here if you have any sort of medical condition because they will bully you for it and make you feel that you are not a valued employee no matter how hard you work or how understanding you are. They clearly know this is going in and continue to promote the problem manager that is responsible so if you are unfortunate enough to land a job with these crooks, beware.

Cons

Everything is a con at this place. They will lie about salaries and expect you to do more work without paying you for it. Do NOT work here.

Pros

The employees are fantastic and work really hard to keep this company afloat.

Cons

Unfortunately, I cannot give Universal Language Service a good review due to so many downsides of working here. I once arrived to ULS ready to work and full of hope for a happy work environment. For the first few months, things were going smoothly. I was being very compliant despite many outrageous rules such as the "Quiet Policy," and the insane micromanagement. And by micromanagement I mean, if you are away from your desk for more than 5 minutes to go to the restroom, all the managers + the CEO is notified. If you do not arrive to work on time, 5 minutes of each of your breaks are deducted. If you so much as click on a link to an outside website other than Salesforce, the managers are notified and you are in the back for a review. There are 7 cameras in just one of two hallways in the building monitoring you at every turn. I would take some friendly advice and really avoid working here unless you want your every second monitored. They boast this company is a family, but the hierarchy of the departments deems otherwise. Plus, there is no company culture. There were ideas of getting something started, but employees kept quitting and quitting due to these issues and there was never really interest shown by the management to revisit it. If you are working in the Scheduling department sticking it out and waiting for things to get better, they will not. It is a never-ending cycle and you would do best to avoid it. I really do regret typing a bad review, because this job has introduced me to some great people. However, I cannot sit idly by and be silent.

Pros

There are no pros working for Universal Language Service. Oh, some of the people who work here are alright some times.

Cons

When you're a Powerhouse, getting your work done, other people's work is shoveled to you to do. I work the night shift and when someone can't keep up with work. I have to do it all. It's happening frequently with both the billing department and the scheduling Department and I'm sick of it. There are absolutely no potential for growth unless they like you. Yes, the managers here do play favorites. I need to point out that if you're not a certain race they will not hire you for a position in the sales or interpreter documents departments. For several months now, management keep talking about moving to a new office. It is funny that the CEO can afford moving into a fancy building but pay their employees so bleeding poor! Hourly rate is lower than Seattle's minimum wage for small businesses. This place does have a high turnover rate. Employees are hired and they work for maybe a few months then they resign for better jobs.. Universal language service then hire more employees to replace the ones that just resigned. I made quite a few friends here working over the years but they have all resigned due to the Stress and Anxiety they had to endure while working here. To be honest, the only positions offered to them were well below their standards. When you voice your concerns, the management make false promises and try to deceive you. They are not to be trusted in any circumstance. I mentioned before that there is no opportunity for growth here. You can't even get a good reference here despite receiving praise for top quality performance. No potential to connect wit different clients to enhance your career. This job will tarnish your career.
