Pros

A company with decent promise in product and trajectory. Management team that were not exceptional but solid and nice people. Comfortable place to work.

Cons

Sadly, this executive team has no vision. In the want to be public, they abandoned their values, the culture and the reasons why people came to work. The tight group of friends at the top have created the perfect "emperor has no clothes" scenario -- no one wants to tell Andy that he needs to do more, think big thoughts and drive performance. He's sheltered by his team and blind to the failures of his direct reports. If any exec left, would they actually be noticed as being gone? Sales team is bloated, overpaid and not tasked with actually performing except in tiny increments. Is there anyone in Marketing? From the lack publicity about the company or the product, I think this is an opportunity for cost savings. If anyone is there, they can be let go and save the money. Engineering creates products that they find cool and the market doesn't ask for. The HR management team all left after the IPO and no one seems to care as the culture completely erodes.

Pros

Hot Market, decent product, great engineers

Cons

Management is all related and totally and they will fire you if you do not agree with them or if you question their process. All sales, pro services sucks now as does their panel. 4 testers take 95% of their tests according to Usertesting engineers. Great upward movement if you are related to management.

Sounds like you must have had some struggles here and I'm sorry about that. While our management team, and especially the c-suite, get along and enjoy working together, we have few relatives on our leadership team. Maybe it just seems like we are closer in relations than we are. We do heavily encourage employee referrals (27% of all hires last year and we paid $120k in referral bonuses), most of these hires were outside the management team. In that group are many friends and family -- and we love that since these relationships make UT a better place to work. Last year and the year before, we promoted or gave new positions to over 30% of the employees that started the year with us -- something we are really proud of. I think you are off base with your thoughts on our panel. Given the volume of tests performed to get to $100M+ in ARR, those 4 people would be working 100s of hours a day to get 'em done. :) While we don't really disclose the size of our panel, we do know that our tests are filled rapidly and performed quickly. I think you might be off in your estimation by a huge magnitude.

Pros

Great product with very little competition in the market. Smartest group of folks I've had the pleasure of working with. Perks like free lunch and massages.

Cons

Inexperienced management that does not know how to lead of a company of UserTesting's size to an IPO. Management is notoriously bad at communicating and being transparent. Morale on the sales team is very low because very few people are hitting quotas. Beware of the overly positive reviews on this site, they ask employees to post positive reviews after they get a set of bad ones.
