Pros

The compensation package is not that great

Cons

Ever since the merger, everything went downhill. No positive outlook. CEO will usually say a lot of fluff but zero action.

Pros

Kindness is a core cultural tenant that isn't just a slogan. For a startup the perks are pretty awesome 401k, lunches, fully stocked kitchen. The product is has a fantastic market fit and the company is significantly doubling down on R&D. Leadership is super accessible and the CEO is incredibly honest and transparent.

Cons

Sure, it's a startup so there are growth pains...but considering where the company is the infrastructure investment is much more significant then I have seen at some public companies!

Pros

UserTesting is an all-inclusive organization, that truly values it's employees. I find this to be the most diverse, empathic, and insightful company that I have ever had the pleasure to be associated with. As a pre-IPO established start up, the amount of growth with little disruption is admirable. You would be hard pressed to find a company that values their employees and cultivates a culture as strongly as UserTesting. It starts with our founders, and trickles down from the CEO throughout the entire company. It is an honor to be a part of this organization, and I look forward to our continued growth!

Cons

None that I can think of.

Pros

There are very few positives to working at UserTesting in 2023

Cons

Acquired by private equity, merged with userzoom and preferred their hard nose culture to Usertesting’s “be kind to others.” Constant layoffs, work feels like you have a gun to your head at all times. Executives are out of touch and constantly set the field team up for failure. The CEO brought in his exec buddies, sold to Thoma Bravo, made their millions, and now the rest of the company is suffering for it. UserTesting is not even a shell of itself, it is a corpse.

Get off this sinking ship

Pros

there really are some smart and talented people here, unfortunately there is no path for them to grow and be successful.

Cons

This company has a terrible track record of firing women leaders and replacing them with just more white men. Diversity and inclusion is a joke. The executive team is incompetent and the culture is broken. No accountability, no vision, no leadership, and the salary compared to market rate is abysmal. The CEO loves to point fingers and place blame for these problems just about everywhere but himself, but at the rate he's losing talented people he's running out of excuses.

Pros

You'll meet a ton of amazing professionals. You will be paid (below market value), still paid though. Join an ERG Be sure to get your experience and then get our before you get put out.

Cons

Leadership is never on the same page. No two managers, directors, VP's, or C-Levels are ever on the same page. Leadership will remind you that you are just one of many contributions to their paycheck. The pay is low compared to other companies in the B2B SaaS space - do with that what you will. Benefits are fairly decent, I cannot complain. Layoff central. Restructuring every 3-5 months is insane. The CEO seems to know what he is doing though (I say this very loosely). There are ism's present; favoritism, sexism, a sprinkle of racism. The environment can seem a bit juvenile and clique-y, as mentioned in a previous review. If work culture means a lot to you, do not join this company. This is a 'sip the Koolaid' environment. They do not practice the kindness and empathy they so preach. Gossip runs rampant and returns back in timely fashion. Diversity has an actual meaning, and not the one the CEO mentioned 'hiring those from other countries'. Hardly seen the diversity AND inclusion mentioned on the career page or at the all hands meetings. In all, you will be overworked, overwhelmed, and underpaid. Please take heed to the details of each honest review. All the best to those who accept employment, perhaps your experience will be better than ours.

Pros

The CEO is super focused on supporting and developing salespeople, from building teams around them to providing every tool they need to do their job exceptionally. The team is expanding rapidly and the culture is amazing. Everyone is positive in their outlook on the company and its growth. I really feel like I'm building and contributing to something greater. We all make money, have a decent schedule and a good work/life balance.

Cons

Change doesn't happen as quickly as it needs to. There is often a lack of clarity & transparency from management. No paid parking.

Pros

I cannot recommend working for this company highly enough. They have been so supportive of me and I really enjoy the project I am working on and the autonomy and trust I am given by my team and peers. To list a few others: - The people are intelligent, caring and supportive - We have great communication and collaboration across all teams - our CEO regularly message on slack! - Our benefits are outstanding and we are rewarded for our hard work - Many career progression Opportunities - Fantastic values that resonate with all of us and are frequently used - When the world opens up again, we have a fantastic office in George Street, Edinburgh and we will be invited to visit our colleagues in America!

Cons

I am still in the honeymoon phase as such so there are very few cons for me atm! We are a global company, all collaborating remotely across many timezones and it can be difficult to manage at times. We have big goals for 2021 so I'm really interested to be part of this and see where the year takes us.

Merger

Pros

- Pay is good. - Work culture used to be good. - Used to be relaxed. - Very flexible working from home policy.

Cons

- Company is being merged with UserTesting. Resulting in redundancies 👍 - New CEO cares more about numbers than people. - Making up to 94 UK employees redunant in the middle of a period of massive inflation, cost of living criss and potentally an upcoming recession. - Every single manager from the UserZoom side has either been demoted or fired. Very clear that this is UserTesting taking over and NOT a merger.
