Pros

Amazing benefits and culture. Helping people and being part of something bigger that has a rewarding purpose.

Cons

Open 24 hours a day 365 days a year and only does emergency, so you see the worst injuries and illnesses and have to be ready for anything anytime.

Thank you for sharing your experience and for the leadership you brought to VEG—we truly appreciate it. We’re happy our culture, benefits, and purpose of helping people and their pets stood out, and we recognize the intensity that comes with 24/7 emergency medicine. Your thoughtful feedback around leadership structure is valuable as we continue to grow and refine how we support our teams.

Pros

Cowokers are great. Using VEG cares fund to help needy clients is awesome. Drs are compassionate and not burnt out. Super stocked food/snacks. Rediculously easy online platform so you can access everything at anytime- submitting CE, ordering scrubs, PTO req, benefits, ect. Paperless practice- everything except sx charting is done with a laptop that you use throughout your shift. If you want to level up there is a TON of support to learn new things and they truly support best practices and advancing their nursing teams. Not a negative thing to say about managment.

Cons

The culty vibe is there but I have a feeling it is hospital dependant. As a chipper person it's fine since it weeds out negative/dramatic nurses. VEG hires lots of new grad docs soit can be hard seeing them adjust to ER demands/stress. No inpatient vs outpatient nursing teams which can be stressful if there are multiple medically complex cases hospitalized. PTO is only 2 weeks but CE is unlimited. If you want to go to a conference then that is essentially half your PTO for the year. Increasing PTO to be on par with other hospitals would be ideal for work life balance in a high stress environment.

Pros

High level medicine. Continued education.

Cons

Company that touts themselves as having good culture but provides little direct feedback on how to better yourself with harsh repercussions.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Culture is so important to us, and this is not the experience we want our VEGgies to have. Even though you’ve moved on, we want to ensure others don't have a similar experience. If you're open to discussing this further, please reach out to stephaniedemars@veg.vet.
