Pros

Great benefits - 5 months of maternity leave, 3 months paternity leave. 6% 401k match, LTI incentives and generous bonus based on your level within the company. Starting to get back into in office, but for the most part a hybrid work setup allows for work life balance, as long as you're not a director or above

Cons

Directors and above are expected to work tirelessly and do not have work life balance. The culture also is one of 'fear' because layoffs and re-orgs happen so frequently, it's unproductive and detrimental to morale. People are often afraid they're going next. So there is very little challenging leadership above you, based on fear.

Ensuring that our employees are provided with a positive and comfortable work environment is extremely important to us. Our benefits are designed to help V Teamers not only in their careers, but also in areas of their lives outside of Verizon. We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us, as we are always looking to improve.

Pros

Pay and benefits are decent but getting worse as years go by.

Cons

Schedules are tenure-only based Supervisors are overloaded with too many reps and support is very lacking Operating systems are constantly having issues and the company makes no attempt to improve them. They take advantage of reps who want to progress their careers by only giving them “interim roles” and ultimately no permanent promotion. They raised the minimum wage for new employees but gave no cost of living raise to current employees. They have outsourced many, many departments but do not train the vendor employees properly or pay them a sufficient amount.

Pros

The best thing about working for Verizon is the benefits. All benefits start from day one of employment. And the pay is decent. You meet some great passionate people who care about the job.

Cons

Upper leadership makes changes and do not communicate to you in a timely manner. You have training on system changes months before the change so you don’t remember the change is coming. And it is a self online training. The system is so messed up that you spend time listening to the customers yell at you for how long they have been on hold while you fighting to make something work on the system. Management ask for feedback so they can address but nothing gets addressed or they just don’t tell you. They outsource the job and you spend more time cleaning up a customer’s account and fixing problems. They focus more on sales than actual customer service. They hound you in emails and chats about selling selling selling. They close needed departments and put those duties on customer service reps without any extra pay. You have to bid for shifts but they can’t tell you how your rank is actually calculated. So you may end up with a not so desirable schedule.
