Pros

Best pay anywhere around and great benefits

Cons

Management does not listen to suggestions or concerns. Dismisses staff in all aspects. Management more interested in their titles and what they are doing than working as a team or helping the residents.

Pros

Bill, CEO started to make good changes for company, now we see his position posted. Don't buy that he wants to retire right now, so what's really happening? No one will be honest with you

Cons

Promotes the most inappropriate and unprofessional people. Reward bad behavior holds no one accountable. Allows bad actors to be anonymous voice to board, left with terrible HR team who can't handle the work. A joke

Pros

Although it has been a difficult last few years for Verland under the executive leadership of a few, these challenges have also elevated the core values, principals and grounding mission of Verland to even greater heights. The organization has prevailed. As Verland can now re-structure, re-balance, and transform in the ways it has needed since the very recent departure of a few, the possibilities are now endless. For the former employees who unfortunately needed to step away from Verland due to the difficult work environment that was being created/fostered under the oversight of senior-level management, this mistreatment never stopped Verland’s employees (past or present) from believing in the overall core mission of Verland to provide the highest quality and compassionate care possible to our most vulnerable population.

Cons

Toxicity breeds toxicity from the top down. As clearly illustrated in previous comments from a disgruntled and recently separated leadership employee - many wonderful Verland employees have unfortunately become the victims of this same passive aggressive bullying and treatment by senior-level management. Additionally, they have become victims of a workplace culture that has become riddled in fear of retaliation, and victims for speaking up and doing what is right in accordance to the needs of the residents, and for the betterment of the organization as a whole. This typical behavior, as evidenced in the comment dated 3/16/23, has resulted in the departure of some of Verland’s most finest and dedicated employees. The impact of these departures have been felt organization-wide. Most importantly, in the hearts and minds of every resident that has been affected. To publicly, yet covertly denounce some of Verland’s most wonderful, hardworking, and compassionate employees on a public platform in this manner is morally, ethically, and professionally wrong. We as an organization are eternally grateful for the support and listening ear of our Board of Directors, as well as for all of the wonderful employees who come to work each day with one united goal at the forefront: Our residents. The comments and negativity illustrated in the previous comment dated 3/16/23 have no place in an environment as beautiful as Verland.
