Fired after one day

Pros

At the offset, seemed like a very chill, friendly place. But...

Cons

Got fired on the morning of my second day. No warning, no constructive criticism, couldn't even get a straight answer why despite prying and prying about what I actually did wrong. I hadn't even been given any means to perform: the first day they told me to start reading the documentation, listen in on meetings, and (I had to take initiative on this) to play around with the software. They never gave me any test, any exercises to complete, or any on tasks that they could evaluate my performance on whatsoever. Just BAM, I'm fired.

All employees are hired on a conditional basis subject to review of their credintials and approval by team members. It is important that applicatnts be honest about their experience and stay attentive to their training manager. Respect those that are helping you transition and stay attentive. Often when a canidate fails after hiring it is a direct result of an inaccurate resume that is discover early in the employment process.

VersaSuite is a place where coders and programmers begin their employment. We provide formal OTJ trainers with high levels of supervision and oversight. This is necessary since many of our employees are new to coding and development. We do give them increasing freedom and autonomy as they develop. Pay increases as skills develop. Growth and development are key elements of success. The culture supports our goals of helping to develop the type of introductory employment opportunities we offer.

Pros

If you already smoke, you'll have lots of company. If you don't, give it some time here and you will.

Cons

High stress , low pay . The owner exploits new developers who are looking for their first job and pays them extremely low pay compared to the Austin average to do the same job. (Starting is as low as 20k)

It is always hard to respond to a negative review, but this review lacks all credibility. We have only a handful of 10+ year employees, and each earns a competitive salary. VersaSuite is a company where many SQL coders get their first job. They come to us with various levels of experience. Many are Fresh from SQL BootCamp with no practical experience. We offer a place to learn and grow. We do not have a single employee that earns $20,000 per year. Our salary structure is based on experience and tenure. Today our base is significantly higher than $20,000, and many coders see 2-4 raises in their first year of employment. The rapid increase in salary is a result of improved skill set as generated by our in-house training program. Come check it out for yourself. From beginner to Pro, we hire all levels of experience here at VersaSuite.
