      Pros

      Nothng really good aside from great co-workers.

      Cons

      Micro-managed environment. Customer service is important to win customer loyalty, but the Superior Service program is a joke.It's demeaning, lowers moral, and no matter how much management pound it in you to act natural it's still fake. Mystery shopper sees it, you get dinged on a point, you best be prepared for retribution from management.

      Pros

      If you are old contract the insurance benefits are the best in the business. If you can take the pressure and abuse you can work at any retail store in the industry.

      Cons

      If you get hired per Vons new contract you will never get a full time position as an employee and you will only make just above minimum wage for at least 2 years.

      Worthwile but make an effort to get out. There is life (and a good one) outside Vons

      Pros

      Store managers make good money and there is not a lack of training. They strive for the highest standards. Great to have a store manager position on your resume.

      Cons

      No gray area with Vons. They don’t measure your career as a whole. They only look at the most recent results which could hold you back if they weren’t good the last week despite 15 years of overall excellent results.
