Pros

I'm shocked that reviews below felt so shut out by the executive team. I never hesitate to pop my head into any of the C-level team's offices to ask a questions, make a suggestion, or just to say, "Hi". This goes for every employee. In that sense, it's a great culture. I feel like ideas are heard. In fact, they've been encouraged and welcomed. I will say though that ideas are not acted on impulsively and they will be thoroughly combed through--I consider this a positive and a good exercise in critical thinking. This may be why some people have felt unheard at times. I'm in sales, so it's certainly possible this is pure optimism in forecasting the opportunity landscape, but it seems there is a very real chance for this company (in this industry) to 10x in size.

Cons

Alluded to above, this industry is challenging. The mechanics in how our customers buy is challenging (the corporate/franchisee shared decision model). There are a lot of points for potential failure in the business relationship with our clients--all they need is one failure point to get frustrated and upset (which over the years has spread some negativity, for sure). However, these are things that recently WAND has set out to improve, and it feels like there is a good basis and momentum on those improvements.

Pros

Digital Menu Boards are a significant part of advancing marketing in the restaurant industry. The market and industry for software and digital menu boards is growing. This is very beneficial for digital menu board companies. This can be very beneficial for individuals in the industry- if you place yourself with the right company that allows you the ability to grow, be competitive and serve the needs of the industry.

Cons

WAND has transitioned from a family owned business into what feels like a corporate entity. With the transition of leadership, there has been an immense amount of internal struggle and challenges from the top down. The newly hired executive team has taken on the challenge of turning the company around and then eventually replacing themselves. In doing so, they have taken the revolving door to extreme measures. The people now are viewed as disposable and just a number. They have let go, pushed out or laid off some of the companies most talented, driven and hard working employees and replaced them with individuals that will fold, bend and be easily manipulated to fit into their leadership style. If you are seeking a long term career, where you can grow with the company and not fear losing your job, this is not the company for you. If you are seeking a career where you can have transparency with your management team and don’t have to feel undermined, disrespected or threatened by expressing your frustration or hardships, this is not a company for you either. If you are experienced and can self manage, this is also not the right company. Unfortunately, they are intimidated by talent and are not willing to keep the most skilled and top performing employees, because they have no idea how to manage them. The executive team does not have enough experience in this industry to provide coaching for top tiered employees, who are going above and beyond. The executive/management team has little accountability. An empire cannot be built on arrogance and the truth always prevails. It is very hard to coach a sport you have never played and the executive team is struggling to figure out how to coach in this industry. The executive team is in over their heads, which has caused them to act irrational out of fear. Unfortunately employees and customers are suffering from the inability of the management team to lead the business to a better place. The employees hands are tied and are they unable to compete in the market and deliver the best results for customers, which is the ultimate goal. It is hard to take care of customers, when management refuses to take care of it's people internally.
