Great Place to work

Recommend
CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

- C level and Management are very transparent about changes and what is and is not working in the company. - Safe place to work for minorities (POC, Women, LGBTQ folks) and inclusive of people without degrees/higher education. - Genuinely feels like lower tier roles in the company are treated with equality and respect from higher tier roles in the company. - Fair entry level salary - Opportunities for growth - Lots of incentives/ good benefits

Cons

- Salary could be better overall - Lots of changes to adjust to constantly, since the company is undergoing a growth period. - While growth and role changes are accessible, they are not very seamless or transitional, so they can feel out of reach.

We appreciate you taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review! It's wonderful to hear you're having such a positive experience and feeling like it's been respectful and equitable no matter the position someone might have here at WP Engine. We place a lot of emphasis on our DEI efforts as well as having transparent leadership to ensure everyone feels a sense of belonging and purpose, so we're glad to hear that's being felt. In regards to pay, WP Engine's compensation philosophy is to pay competitive to market based on cost of talent vs cost of living. We utilize salary surveys to review our salary ranges on an annual basis and then conduct an annual salary planning review for merit-based increases. We definitely want to ensure everyone feels like they have access to growth and development opportunities here, so we'd love to hear more about this. If you're comfortable doing so, we'd encourage you to reach out to your EE Business Partner or anybody on the Employee Experience Team so we can better understand this concern and work to address it. Thank you again for leaving a review and sharing your experience, we're so glad you're here with us!

Thank you so much for sharing your feedback! We're committed to open and transparent communication across the board, so we're really glad to see that's been your experience. WP Engine's compensation philosophy is to pay competitive to market based on cost of talent vs cost of living. We utilize salary surveys to review our salary ranges on an annual basis and then conduct an annual salary planning review for market adjustment increases in sales. We recognize that employees feel more pressure to hit quotas as we approach the end of the month and are currently reviewing our structure to better allow our Sales Team to meet their goals and feel supported. If you ever had more feedback to share, positive or constructive, we'd encourage you to reach out to your EE Business Partner or anybody on our Employee Experience Team as we're always looking for feedback to ensure we're growing and thriving together. Appreciate that you took the time to share!

No longer a growth company

Business Outlook

Pros

Fun company culture. Committed, accessible and high energy woman CEO. Diversity and inclusion. Talented and dedicated team members.

Cons

Profits are prioritized over growth and employee well-being. Despite record profits, no bonuses were given in 2023. Stock valuation has been declining for years, making stock options unprofitable. Pay is below the market rate. Many incompetent executives. Most roles are moving out of US, significantly limiting growth for US team members. High attrition in the last few years.

We appreciate you taking the time to share about your experience when working at WP Engine. We're glad to hear you enjoyed our culture, DEI efforts, the people you worked with as well as our CEO, Heather. We're concerned to hear you felt like we were more focused on profit than the wellbeing of our people, we've made many investments in wellness over the last few years and certainly wouldn't want this to be the experience of anybody working at WP Engine. We're proud of our leaders and the work they put in every day to ensure we're continuing to grow and thrive together. In regards to pay, WP Engine's compensation philosophy is to pay competitive to market based on cost of talent vs cost of living. We utilize salary surveys to review our salary ranges on an annual basis and then conduct an annual salary planning review for merit-based increases. We know you're no longer working at WP Engine, but if you have any more feedback to share we'd encourage you to reach out to our Employee Experience Team. We wish you the best in future endeavors.
