Pros

The co-workers make this place a great place to work. You make friends, have fun, and if you keep your head down, you'll do great. Free food, casual dress code, and flexibility if you need it.

Cons

People are starting to burn out regularly. Turnover is high, and leadership is letting really great people go who actually care about the team. There is a lack of trust in our leaders today and it's getting worse. But we smile and show a good face. Marketing is a really tough place to work. People have to do what their told and there's a lot of resistance in change. The teams are silo'd and it's heard to break this pattern because the people leading us don't know how. Leaders don't trust us to do our job and micromanage every task. No room for growth. Recognition comes to people who work all the time - all the time!

Pros

Benefits are nice. Pet insurance, wellness money, generous PTO

Cons

Where to begin? Stressful quotas, unrealistic expectations, insincere leadership, and favoritism towards certain representatives. It's disheartening when many fail to earn commissions, yet still subjects its employees to undue pressure. Micromanagement has increased, despite claims of trust. They've even requested these Glassdoor recommendations. Every day, more people leave. I just wish this place was still like when I first started—fun, light-hearted, and with a positive culture. I suppose as it grows bigger, it's harder to hold onto who you really are.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience thus far at WP Engine. While we're glad to hear you enjoy our benefits and wellness programs, we're very concerned to hear your experience related to performance expectations and leadership/team management. We're certainly aware that employees feel more pressure to hit quotas as we approach the end of the month and are currently reviewing our structure to better allow our Sales Team to meet their goals and feel supported. Your comment related to us asking employees for Glassdoor recommendations is incorrect. We do not solicit recommendations, rather we encourage employees to utilize Glassdoor to share feedback regarding their experience, whether positive or constructive. Soliciting positive reviews is antithetical to our Core Values, would prevent us from being able to address concerns, and would hinder our ability to create the best experience for our employees. If you're comfortable doing so, we'd encourage you to reach out to your EE Business Partner to share this feedback and any other thoughts you have, as we take things like this very seriously and would like the opportunity to hear more and do what we can to make it right. We hope to hear from you and just want to thank you again for sharing these concerns with us.

Pros

Friendly co-workers and peers. Free lunch and snacks.

Cons

The recruiters and sales leadership will tell you that OTE is at least 100% more than what you are actually going to bring home. Leadership keeps hiring people in sales and keeps making the pie smaller for everyone. The pay is a joke, and the turnover is out of control. There is a lot of micro management b/c no one is making goal, b/c there are too many sales people. You are required to be in office 8-5 M-F. This is not a WFH environment.

We appreciate you and your comments. We take them very seriously and we want all our employees to be financially successful and thrive here. We’re sorry your experience is not measuring up to that. As you know, we constantly benchmark compensation and sales targets to allow more reps to be successful. Further, a core tenet is that everyone is an owner here at WP Engine, meaning everyone has an equity stake in the company. Recognizing that you are a current employee, we encourage you to bring your concerns to sales leadership so that we can work with you on your specific situation. We are a growing company with an award-winning culture and we want all our employees, including you, to thrive here.
