Pros

The people are friendly and the pay isn't bad for an entry level job.

Cons

Washington Federal consistently understaffs. This leads to all sorts of predictable problems and is unpleasant for current employees. Communication between management/supervisors and employees is also lacking.

Customer Service Representative (Teller)

Pros

Banking hours M-F 9 to 5 Accrued sick pay and paid vacation. Competitive bonuses. With the right management you will have opportunity to advance.

Cons

Branch leadership spends all of their time on loans and no time on managing. Loan officer positions are not a thing with this company. If you work best in a team setting this is not the place for you. Individuals are held to an extremely high standard, but not given much support in training or on projects. Communication between branch leadership and tellers is poor. Pressure is exerted on employees to volunteer for charity work regardless of their family status. Projects are handed out last minute with very short deadlines. "Simply being nice" is a tag line that is not accurate.

Thanks for your feedback, I am sorry that you and not experiencing good communication. We acknowledge that communication is key to engaged employees so we are working on improving it without making it scripted (trying to keep it real). Balance is our goal.

Monday thru Friday no weekend and all holidays off

Pay more, value employees more.
