Pros

Washington Federal is a great place to work. All employees are treated with respect. Low turnover is proven by the fact that many of the employees have been there a long time. The company does not believe in product pushing. Excellent products and services make it easy to sell the bank as a "small town bank that cares". I have a lot of pride working for Washington Federal. Great retirement plan and decent health benefits. Great hours with NO weekends/evenings. The sales bonus plan is great and all-inclusive meaning just about everyone benefits when the bank is profitable. Historically has been very profitable and rated one of the very best banks in the country. Not the typical political BS that comes with working for a big bank. Absolutely love working for Washington Federal!!!

Cons

Base salary is below market. Significantly below market, in fact. Good retirement and bonus plan make up for it somewhat. Many processes and procedures are very dated. Technology is seriously lacking, but improvements have been made in the last couple of years. Advancement opportunities appear limited.

Pros

Greate local community banks with a family like culture. No micro management or crazy daily sales goals that need to be met like some big banks.

Cons

It is a community bank so if you see areas of improvement and you bring it to the attention of management it just became your project. This could be good or bad.
