Get your year one year of experience and move on fast! Because as a person of color you will never be able to work your way up. They’ll tell you in the beginning that there are many opportunities and they will even show you the one or two Black or Hispanic people that are in higher positions to make you believe it’s possible but it’s a flat out lie. These people of color are put in place due to affirmative action. This specific office has a history of chasing Black people out by excluding them, never giving them voices to speak, and frustrating them to a breaking point where they then are suddenly “the problem”. Turner is by far one of my most horrific working experiences. I became depressed knowing I was never accepted for who I was. Which was Black. Do not stay at this company if you feel your mental health is more important. Please know, account executives &; managers DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. There job is to cover their own backs and make sure money isn’t lost. You are a number to them, not a human being, you do not matter, the work does. Keep in mind that you will be given all the work to do while account executives make commission on what you do. They will over work you and force you to stay late during quarter changes. The pay level is a slap in the face for what coordinators do. Coordinators are considered lower level meanwhile they do all the work and are settled with bagels on Fridays. As a coordinator understand that without you, the company doesn’t make MONEY. Please do your research before interviewing or accepting a position with Turner. In the industry they do not have a good reputation here in NY.

It's a secret cult and you have to be invited into their cliques. They are pleasant at first to feel you out and see if you make the cut. If you don't, no more good mornings from people, you'll be blocked from advancing and they don't like new ideas or processes because it rocks their boat and they like being complacent. Most people there that have been there any length of time are bored and unhappy but too unmotivated to look for other employment so the atmosphere is filled with resentment and unhappiness. Management is the worse because they undercut people and hold a gripe against employees for no real reason and HR will do nothing to back it's employees, only management. Management is also clueless, unqualified, lazy and get upset if you ask them for anything which also leads to a very delayed response from them about anything. There's an unspoken language there that "culture" is the only thing that matters and you are automatically outcasted if you have ambition to advance, learn other jobs, or present more efficient processes. Everyone is required to do their job only and nothing more. During the massive layoff, they laid off 1500 people only to hire new people to replace them with smaller salaries or contractors.Working at TBS too long will stifle your skills and make you unqualified for other jobs. Work there for a while, make connections and move on.
