Pros

Yup, lots of good people. But, to recent poster/ urrent Director who said culture is from 70s-80s and dissed John, your a goner dude! Never dis the king! He will root you out!

Cons

Yup, culture from 70s and 80s. The CEO is unique, inspiring (in good and bad ways), and the glue and engine of this company. But he is old, soon be in (or is) ineffective or gone. When he goes, so goes this company. Its future was in its past, and its over.

You are correct. There are a lot of good people that work at Weidenhammer. And being that you were here for over 20 years, I’m sure you know that. Regarding the “culture from the 70s and 80s”, our company is now 41 years old. We are very fortunate to have many team members who have been here 25 and 30 plus years. That in itself tells you how many team members feel about the company and how they have been treated. We don’t view long-term employees as a negative. These people are very experienced, provide mentorship to our younger staff, and have forged important long-term relationships with our customers. Regarding our CEO, John Weidenhammer, yes he is unique. He has built a great company over the last 41 years. In addition, he has been very active in the Reading and Berks County communities, always striving to make this area a better place to work and live. No question, when he retires, he will be truly missed. However, there will be a plan in place that will allow the company to prosper long after he retires.

Pros

- Employees are hard-working and dedicated; willing to work together and assist one another. - Culture is like a work family - tenure of career exceeds industry averages - Ownership and executive management is willing to invest in new technologies and in our staff's development and education. - Entrepreneurial spirit is greatly encouraged - Privately held and able to respond to customer demands very quickly - Able to work with diverse set of customers - Able to work with diverse set of technologies - Full benefits package - Medical, dental, 401K, etc.

Cons

- Custom solution and integration aspects of business make planning and scheduling difficult at times - have to be able to react very quickly. - Staying up with new technologies that constantly change can be difficult for some staff members. This is the consultant's dilemma.
