Pros
- You won't find many BDR opportunities with the opportunity to learn about such a wide array of services. From Application Development to eCommerce, Marketing, Tech Infrastructure and anywhere in between. - You'll be challenged as a true consultative salesperson. You won't be selling SaaS widgets and having the same conversation 50x per day... Every prospect, opportunity, and conversation is completely different! - Team is filled with superstar seasoned vets on both sales and operations sides that are incentivized to (and want to) mentor you. You'll learn from some of the best. - Family atmosphere and culture. (average employee tenure is unparalleled in tech) - Management works with you to hit your goals, not against you. If you are falling behind they do not ask "what are you doing wrong?" but "how can we better help you?" instead. - Good office atmosphere and comradery. - Small team. Your impact will be felt. - Extremely good benefits and 401k match.
Cons
- Long sales cycle will challenge you to ramp-up before becoming an AE... which should be your goal if you want a sales development job anyway. - Small team. You will feel the pressure to perform. (pro of this is your impact will be extremely apparent.) - Sales works mostly in-office still. (slowly moving to hybrid model, though) (see: pro of this above as well)
