Pros

- Some of the people - Basic salary was decent, but only to compensate for the rubbish benefits

Cons

- Completely inept and arrogant 'C' level management - Broken business model - Delusions of grandeur which has led to scaling up too fast to boost the CEO's ego - Bad culture and unnecessary politics from the top down - Unrealistic sales targets - Using the global pandemic to rescue an organisation already circling the drain (having declared only 3 months operating costs left at the start of the year - COVID19 came right on time) - Staff have been furloughed and subsequently made redundant based on a made up scoring mechanism which was obviously cobbled together when you ask to see how you were scored - Whilst loyalty is an admiral trait, if you aren't part of the 'Old Guard' don't expect to get any job protection. No matter how good you are at your job, if you're up against one of them, you'll be out on your ear. - Lies, lies and more lies I could go on .... In short - if you want to work for a company that is honest, cares about their staff, and has an Exec team that instil the company values/vision or at the very least have half a clue between them, then don't join wejo.

Pros

The tech could be interesting but they have no idea what to really do with it and often it seems like we give it away for free

Cons

Just before Christmas a large number of people were made redundant. At the start of 2020 we were all told that we were safe despite only having 3 months operating costs left. The owner also told bragged that he had never not paid us and that they were looking for money. Fast forward a few months and around 60-70 staff are facing redundancy, I truly believe Wejo have used the current pandemic to strip back their business and save money after really really poor management decisions have been taken when they thought were the next big thing. Current staff on a pay cut doing more work due to redundancies. I for one will not be sticking around much longer.

Pros

Data is interesting and the salary is decent

Cons

The company has been struggling for quite some time with it's vague business model. There is no one opinion of what wejo should actually be doing which means we have lots of people pulling in diffirent directions. Sometimes there was absolutely nothing to do and sometimes we were racing to meet ridiculous deadlines. At the beginning of 2020 we had a meeting with CEO and were told not to worry as the business is definitely solid and it's just growth pains. Then the corona situation happened and the company has shown it's true image. Sending half of techies to furlough and then sending risk of redundancy straight after. Contractual notice periods will not be respected, neither notice pay, which will be coming from furlough money (thanks HMRC!) at furlough rate, much lower than what people would expect. If a tech company is firing half the techies, who is going to work on the main product?
