Decent pay for most work grades Flexible work hours Casual dress code - summer shorts etc

Bad and apathetic management Managers just parrot items from executive management and don't defend employees Discrimination against employees not located in Lenexa headquarters No focus on quality in products - just band-aids to problems

Pros

Immediate coworkers are awesome. Great location in the Reston area. Never bored. Always challenged. Free snacks and drinks.

Cons

Acquired by Mediware and the whole culture was changed for the worse. No documentation for anything. You are on your own. If you ask, it is like hazing. If you don't ask, you waste hours trying to connect the dots yourself. High stress. Untenable workload. People work nights and weekends and still can't get the work done. The software is suffering mostly because the old timers left with all the knowledge in their heads. Customers are rightfully disappointed with the product, subsequent support and the time it takes to get bugs fixed. QA is attempted but integrated testing falls short. It's a company that I would suggest you avoid. If you need a job take it. Many people don't last very long. So keep up the job search once you get there so you can get paid while you continue to look. Mediware has grown to fast and don't have enough permanent staff to bring up all the new folks. It stopped being fun.

You are right that the rapid adoption of Mediware’s human services solutions has resulted in many employees moving into expanded roles and the hiring of a large number of new team members. Anytime a company grows at a very fast pace, growing pains can occur. As you mention, the dynamic nature of the business is “never boring” and the pace at which we are all working to meet customer commitments can be challenging. Mediware is committed to a professional, collaborative working environment for all employees so I am disappointed if you feel it is difficult to ask for help or your manager is not listening or using negative reinforcement to try to motivate you. I will ask the team to reflect on your comments and look for ways to improve teamwork and mentorship in line with our company values. Thank you again for the comments.
