Pros

The patients are the only reason I work here.

Cons

Turn over rate for this job is horrible!!!! They don't know how to keep employees because they treat them like crap. Since working with this job I've been nothing but stressed because management don't do their job, no one answers their phone (management), and they will mess with your pay. They accuse you of things you don't do and my supervisor has changed like 4 times since working here. When they hire new people then that means your hours are cut until one of them quit then that's when you have a full day. And the cycle just keeps going. I would not recommend this job to anyone and the pay isn't worth it either!

Thank you for sharing your observations and opinions. Feedback, both positive and negative, helps us grow and improve, so we appreciate your having taken the time. When a team member separates from a role, it’s normal for that person to feel frustrated and even angry about things he or she wish could have been handled differently. As People and Culture professionals, we also look closely at ways we could have helped to improve a situation for everyone involved. We’re human, and we are all works in progress. But we follow consistent processes and adhere to best practices to make sure all team members are treated fairly and given the opportunity to express themselves. I’m proud of the way our team members do their work every day, and especially of the way they exhibit WesleyLife’s vision and values as they live into our mission. No situation is perfect – yes, there are times communities are short-handed. Yes, there are times someone runs for the phone and isn’t able to catch it on the last ring because he or she has been caring for a resident or client. Yes, there will always be ways we can improve. And we’re grateful for many team members who are willing to go above and beyond, day in and day out, to make WesleyLife a great place to work. I hope you were given the opportunity during your separation meeting to express your concerns. If not, or if you’d like to talk further, please reach out to me at any time. I care about your well-being and wish you all the best. Kristy VanDerWiel Vice President, People and Culture WesleyLife

Pros

Helping others who are in need of assistance. Can be a fulfilling job if Management were kinder and more professional.

Cons

Employees & Management are unreasonable & unethical. They lack professionalism, difficult and unreasonable to work with. Training is little to none.

Your comments are appreciated. I truly would have liked the opportunity to hear your comments while you were with us so that we could address the specific situations you experienced. You are welcome and encouraged to reach out to any member of our senior leadership team to provide more details. "Unethical" is a pretty big deal for us as we take our individual integrity and the integrity of our organization as an utmost priority.

Thank you for recognizing our mission and vision. They form the foundation of everything we are as an organization, and we are grateful to those who help us fulfill them. Thank you for the time you gave to WesleyLife. Honesty and ethics are two critical tenets on which our foundation is built. When you charge us with being dishonest and unethical, those accusations cut deep, and we want and need to address them. We ask that you contact Joeilynn Leonhardt, Senior Director of People and Culture, at your earliest convenience to discuss the issues or incidents to which you are referring so that we may take necessary steps toward resolution. Her contact information is jleonhardt@wesleylife.org / (515) 271-6797. Thank you.
